Free Church Accounting

Written by Nathan Jackson on Mar 31st, 2009 | Filed under: Religion

Managing a Church’s finances can be extremely challenging, especially on a limited budget. To make things worse, the economy is currently down meaning your church probably isn’t receiving as many donations as before. Finding some free church accounting software could save your church money.

In the wild world of the Internet you will find several sites that claim to give away free software for churches, but these sites can be misleading. Below is a list of some of these sites as well as their true cost.

The author is not the owner of any of these sites. The author only hopes to save time for those who may be interested in accounting software for churches.

Churchradius.com

Church Radius offers their accounting system via Internet. To use their church accounting software for free, your church must access the Internet.

This is a great deal; a major drawback, however, is the fact that having all of your church’s information stored on the Internet can be dangerous. Another drawback is that web-based software is frequently plagued with annoying banner ads. A necessary evil to provide the software for free.

Sunday Software

Sunday Software is a great page; however, they don’t actually manufacture and sell church accounting software. The site is well designed and has some good church resources. It also has fun resources for kids.

Churchtrac.com

The good news is that Churchtrac actually makes church accounting software. They offer the software for free to small churches. In order to qualify as a small church, your church must have fewer than 100 contributing members.

Churchbizonline

If you searched for the term (free church accounting software) at Google, then the first site you came across was probably Churchbiz. No offense to this site, but it actually doesn’t offer any church accounting options. It offers Open Office for free, but this is definitely not accounting software.

Useful church accounting software will probably cost you some money. Some free options exist, but they definitely have their limitations. Best of luck managing your church in these economically difficult times.

Why Have Counselling ? (Based on my experience of Counselling in Kettering, Northants. UK)

Written by David Woodward on Mar 31st, 2009 | Filed under: Humanities

The majority of us would benefit by being helped with difficult events in their lives. e.g:

- Do you feel under stress trying to cope with the demands of modern day life ?

- Do you need some assistance in coping with a difficult time emotionally ?

- Do you feel a sense of abandonment or loss ?

- Are you angry or violent to yourself or others ? Is it a struggle to control this anger ?

- Do fear and anxiety hinder you in life, and make it more difficult for you to achieve fulfillment and contentment ?

- Is there a situation in your life that you feel is just too complicated to try and sort out on your own ?

- Have you been hurt by a breakdown of communications in a relationship ?

- Are you locked into a downward cycle of depression that you just don’t seem to be able to break out of ?

- Do you want to find alternative ways of handling your behaviour, thoughts and emotions ?

- Would it help if someone just listened to you, empathised with you, and tried to understand things from your point of view ?

Many people would be able to answer “Yes” to at least some of the above. Other issues might also come to light from the above examples that could also be discussed and resolved. By being neutral, independant and non-judgemental, a counsellor can help by providing an ideal forum for these issues to be discussed and resolved in comfort, and in confidence.

Most genuine counsellors will be prepared to provide your initial consultation for no charge, giving you the chance to evaluate the potential benefits of counselling at no cost, or with no commitment to continue on your part.

You owe it to yourself to consider counselling as a possible way forward for you. Contact an experienced, qualified counsellor today, and book yourself that initial consultation.

Overcoming Your Shyness And Gain Confidence

Written by Alan on Mar 31st, 2009 | Filed under: Motivation

Are you a person who often feels shy and have difficulties talking to people in a social setting? Can’t seem to find the right words to say when asked to speak in a crowd? Do you get nervous and can’t seem to stay still when people are all around you? Don’t worry about it! It is perfectly normal to feel shy once in a while, and more so if you are placed in an unfamiliar situation.

However, if shyness starts to become frequent and starts to adversely affect your daily life, then you need to do something about it. Well the good news is there are many ways to overcome shyness and build self confidence.

First, let’s understand what shyness is and why it manifests. Basically, shyness is due to someone who feels that he or she is inferior to everyone else. Their fear of meeting and talking to new people comes from the fear of getting rejected by these strangers. So what can we do about it?

The most critical key is to first resolve this conflict within you. Meaning you must truly love yourself before you can feel comfortable meeting new people. First list out the positives you have as a person. Really see that inherrently you have worth and can do great things.

Once you start to feel your self-estem rising, you will start to see that meeting strangers is an exciting prospect. Your fears of rejection will dissipate as you learn to say ‘it’s ok if people don’t like me’.

Another great way to overcome your shyness and build self confidence is to do it incrementally. Meaning instead of throwing yourself into totally unfamiliar situations, start first with simple similes or hello. Once you get used to it, turn it up a notch by saying ‘how are you’ and see if you can extend the small talk a little longer. Gradually, what you once thought hard and impossible will become easy as breeze.

So there you have it, some important points and methods you can use to help overcome your shyness. Remember, we often fear things that actually almost never happen in real life. Once again, don’t just think about it, go ahead and socialize with people today. Best of luck to you.
