Abdrew Krause asked:

Italy is one of the oldest countries in the world, and thanks to the geographical boundaries of the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps it has remained largely unchanged throughout history. Even during the Roman Empire, Italy was set apart. Legions that had been abroad always knew when they had returned to the mother country. Italian food history, however, reaches far beyond the country’s borders.

For starters, look at pasta. There is much historical debate on its origins, but many historians point to Marco Polo’s voyages to the Far East, from which he returned with all manner of foreign spices and foods, as the venue from which pasta came. The Chinese had cooked with noodles for centuries, and Marco Polo’s men encountered the same on their travels.

The tomato, now considered a staple in Italian cuisine, was long thought to be poisonous, partly because it is related to the deadly nightshade plant. Other Europeans found it to be palatable long before the first Italian cook simmered some down to make tomato sauce.

The Greeks, neighbors and frequent military rivals of the Italians, had a great amount of influence on Italian cuisine, especially in the area of spices and the preparation of seafood. Calamari, or squid, now a common dish on every Italian restaurant menu, was originally something Greeks were known for consuming.

The Roman Empire’s excursions into North Africa were another fertile breeding ground for culinary expansion. The number of herbs, spices and vegetables that entered the Italian menu from Egypt and the other African territories is uncountable.

Even today, Italian food history continues to evolve. Much of the changes now, though, take place beyond the shores of Italy. In America, for example, chefs like Mario Batali have fused classic Italian dishes with American cuisine to come up with dishes that combine the best of both worlds. In cities and towns all over the country, chefs are taking traditional ingredients and combining them in new ways. In what could perhaps be called a “full-circle” journey for pasta, some Italian-Asian fusion restaurants are even beginning to evolve.

But perhaps the best way to get a full idea of Italian food history is to get out and eat some. Better yet, eat a lot! Eating Italian food is always better than Italian food history.

Pick The Gender Of Your Baby

Imran ali asked:

There are many purposes of Religious jewellery. Jewellery with pious symbols or implication not only contributes a bit of glitter and behaves as a costless accessory, but also behaves as an outward symbol or sign of one’s notions or beliefs.

Religious jewellery always helps to remind and recall the wearer of the true religious and spiritual belief they adhere to, and support their hope, desire and expectations to follow it. Always serve as a manifestation of actual love and regard for religious beliefs of a person. Act as a helpful way to make ideological conversation with others about the personal, private or individual beliefs of the wearer. Many feel it may provide them emotional potency and strength or act like mascot, talisman and amulet. Certain people believe that it works like a good luck charm. Some people thought that religious jewellery may save them from evils.

The wearing of various styles and kinds of Christian religious pieces and accessories has become much popular and accepted. All jewellery kinds like Bracelets, brooches, earrings, rings, pendants, necklaces, pins and more are used as religious sense. This includes Crosses and crucifixes, depictions of Jesus, the dove, Christian lockets, the Virgin Mary, denominational medallions, mustard seed, prayer rings, rosary bead bracelets and necklaces, Praying Hands, Patron Saints, the Itchy or Fish symbol and many more in Catholic jewellery.

The wearing of various styles and kinds of Jewish religious pieces and accessories has become more accepted and adopted. Star of David is the most famous and popular symbol in Jewish religious jewellery. Other types, signs and symbols of Jewish pious jewellery include, Tree of life, Chai pendants, Mezuzahs, Menorah image, Hamsah Jewellery and Hebrew Verses.

People of ancient Greece believed that the pious jewellery would protect them from evils, evil spirits and unusual destructions. Some of the jewellery pieces were dedicated to the Gods, Goddesses and immortal universal powers. Ivory, silver and yellow gold were often used by Greeks.

There is another regular kind of Religious jewellery called new age jewellery. This type of jewellery materialized with gemstones, crystals, amulets and talismans. It may be based on the horoscope symbols, zodiac and numerology. Rune or Celtic jewellery is often communal with new age pious jewellery. It may include dragons, “healing” crystals, “power” beads, mascots and more.

The wearing of religious or spiritual jewellery with proud and devote has been popular from the time of the ancient or old Egyptians. Precious stones and metals were used to design symbols with various meanings such as the “Eye” of Horus for everlasting life and the scarab (beetle) for fortune and luck were popular and common.

Jewellery types that evoke religious meaning have a vast number. The prices of religious jewellery start from a one dollar cloth WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) necklace to expensive diamond jewellery and fine designer gold. Many jewelers and jewellery shops contain and keep pious jewellery but you should also visit the specific stores having religious jewellery. There you will find out complete range of pious jewellery with competitive price.

Pick The Gender Of Your Baby

Ella Wilson asked:

History has always had the capacity to fascinate people with numerous breathtaking and awesome moments. Cricket world cup history is no exception to this and contains an illustrious past about the origin of the game, about those golden moments on the field and also about brilliant performances by players with the bat, ball or both.

World cup cricket history has been a witness to so many momentous cricketing occasions on the field, and going over all these again gives one a wonderful feeling. Fans who follow the game seriously know what it means to be able to relive those golden moments and cherish those wonderful moments.

Till date eight world cup events has been held and almost all these events have thrown up surprises. One can know about this by taking a peek to the world cup history. World cup is one of the most important events held in the cricket world. And it this coveted title that each team aims to win during the course of the tournament.

World cup history informs 1975 as the year when the first world cup was played. The game was played in England and a total of 8 teams participated in that event. Then, East Africa and Sri Lanka were the qualifiers, who were also known as minnows in cricketing terms. West Indies were the winners for the first even world cup recorded in world cup history. They defeated Australia by a small margin of 17 runs in the final played at Lords.

The next world cup recorded in world cup history took place in the year 1979 and again the event was hosted by England. This time also eight teams took part in the tournament and this time the minnow teams were Canada and Sri Lanka. The format which was in place for the tournament for the first world cup was followed here also. West Indies won the event for the second time in row. This time they best hosts England in the finals at Lords.

In 1983, England hosted the world cup tournament once again. This is the only instance in world cup history where the event was hosted by one country three times in a row. Till date, this has never happened again in world cup history. This time there was a surprise winner and for the first time in world cup history West Indies were defeated in the finals yet again played at Lords. In a low scoring game, they were defeated by the Indian team led by Kapil Dev. In India’s cricket and world cup history, this victory is considered as one of the major landmarks.

In 1987, for the first time in the history of the world cup, the vent was held outside England, the event was jointly hosted by India and Pakistan. This time it was Australia who won this event and the West India dominance we beginning to decline little by little. The next world cup in the year 1992 was jointly hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Pakistan beat England in the finals at MCC by 22 runs to win the title. Never in world cup history have England won the title, despite being known as the land where cricket first originated.

The 1996 world cup was jointly hosted by India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This time Sri Lanka was the surprise winners as they beat Australia in the finals. This was the first instance in world cup history when a team batting second won the trophy. Subsequent world cup were held in England and South Africa in the year 2000 and 2003 respectively. In 2000 Australia won the event for a second time by beating Pakistan in the finals. Again 2003, Australia won the world cup finals, this time by beating India in the finals by a whooping margin of 125 runs. For the first time in world cup history a team had won the world cup thrice.

The next world cup is scheduled to be held in West Indies in the year 2007. As usual, cricket pundits and critics have started predicting who will win and who will not. Australia would love to score a hatrick by winning the tournament three times in a row. However, only time will tell who will emerge as champions and who will not?

Pick The Gender Of Your Baby

Boris Tomson asked:

How To Make Money Online Using Your Skills and Knowledge

Making money online is now considered to be one of the fastest growing areas for people to invest their time in because they are tired of the 9-5 routine. When you are thinking of ways to make money, you likely want to know immediately what the best way is but everyone is different and what is profitable for one is not for another. Before you can move ahead you need to decide what skills you can offer the Internet; two well tried methods are used in this article. In essence all that is needed is a method to find customers, meet their needs and giving them more than they are expecting.visit to http://makingmoney-info.blogspot.com

One of the most popular methods of making money online is by affiliate marketing where a person becomes an unpaid (commissions only) salesperson for a company, internet or otherwise and is paid for sales, or on occasion leads. Affiliates don’t have to endure the stresses and strains of running that company but still have the opportunity to earn a cut of it. If an affiliate can find a trustworthy program, in which they will never lose money, there is the chance to earning some serious cash. The idea is to find a company that pays a good percentage on their commissions; seventy five percent is not unusual but try to avoid those where great efforts can be made just to secure five percent. The reason many people like affiliate marketing as a way to make money online is the fact they do not have to own or promote a product of their own so there is very little financial outlay involved.http://makingmoney-info.blogspot.com

The other main program to make money online is Google’s adsense which uses adverts which are relevant to the site content where they are placed. Adsense accounts are free and the person with the adverts gets paid a very small amount each time one is clicked by a visitor. This is the system described very simply but you need huge numbers of visitors to your site (probably a number of sites) to generate an income. Google are very strict regarding their terms for the adverts placed on any site and can easily stop payment so check their terms and conditions regularly.

Any one may become partner with Google’s Adsense program to work towards a common goal but Google has a whole list of terms and conditions that must be adhered to. Everyone has their own reason for wanting to make money online but you must be sure why you are doing it if you want it to succeed. All you need to do is learn how to get people to ‘visit’ your site and because this is not an easy thing to learn on your own, you will need some help that will teach you the best tactics.

Joining the warriorforum.com should be one of your first places to carry out research as most internet marketers are found here and a great deal of experience is available for novices and professionals alike. Making money online does not require a product, service, computer or any computing skills although it is obviously easier if you have a few of these skills. http://makingmoney-info.blogspot.com

The Baby Sleep Solution Audio Program

Robin Calamaio asked:

Human beings are a complicated mix. For example, we are quite social and operate in groups … yet, we are also unique, individual units. Some activities are correctly pursued in group, but some pursuits must be solo. As Christians, we become part of the body of Christ - yet, we remain an individual. God says it this way: “You are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.” Furthermore, He distributes spiritual gifts “to each one individually just as He wills” and places “the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desire(s)” (1Cor 12:11,18 and 27). Those in this group actually have their individuality enhanced - by imparted gifts. But, … let’s move back a step.

The most important, the most crucial, indeed the most non-negotiable of all solo actions, centers on the salvation issue. This matter begins and ends with the individual and the Creator. There is no activity more solo. And it puts us in the weakest of positions because “all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do” (Heb 4:13). It’s no wonder we hide “in the trees” like Adam - looking for cover (Gen 3:8). It is ironic that the shield of choice is often … religion.

The only religion I am interested in discussing here is the Christian religion.

The Christian Religion

In my mind, the Christian religion and the Christian faith are two different things. It is not imperative that you adopt my demarcation between the two, but if you think (for this moment) in the framework I am presenting, the following discussion will make more sense. When I think of religion, I think; “ceremony, ritual, dogma - and formulas for these things.” When I think of faith, I think; “inquiry, study, knowledge - and persuasion of what is true.”

Using this definition, the Christian religion … is easy. Formulas are presented that lead one to salvation, then directives are clearly defined for “good” Christian living. Altar calls, confirmations, or baptisms are soon followed by church membership, tithing, and the church calendar.

It is a natural weakness for man to fall into religion. The reason is really quite simple. Religion tells the follower everything he/she must do. The directives are not to be questioned - just obeyed - and everything will be fine. Many people feel like they have actually accomplished something by following religious orders. This has great appeal for the participant - and often provides great comfort. But, this comfort does not end in life.

The Christian religion rests on two primary pillars. First, those in the pew are sheep who must be led. And the second pillar is (you guessed it) - the leaders. They are to be obeyed. Two huge blunders are created by this model. For starters, Christians - as sheep - is a “figure of speech” (Jn 10:6). Sheep are depicted as naive, defenseless and quite dumb (However, they only answer to the trustworthy voice of their master … and ignore a stranger’s voice [Jn 10: 1-5,16,27]. People would do well to imitate this. They often follow “strange voices” … who lead them into death). But, where does Ezekiel’s verse fit in the “dumb sheep” analogy? “‘As for you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God,’ declares the Lord” (Ezek 34:31). This is consistent with Paul’s admonition to the wayward Corinthians: “in your thinking be mature … Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong” (1Cor 14:20 and 16:13). Where is it that God calls His children - to be stupid sheep?

Secondly, the leaders of the Christian religion are exempted from this “figure of speech”. They are over the dumb sheep. But, they themselves … are not dumb sheep. One of the most oft quoted passages supporting this position comes from Hebrews: “Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they keep watch over your souls, as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you” (Heb 13:17). At first glance, it does appear the religion model is accurate - sheep are supposed to obey leaders. But, a simple language lesson will demand a closer scrutiny.

This English translation (from Koine Greek) contains at least three problems.

First, in the English translation: “Obey” is a verb in the active voice. But in Koine Greek, this is a verb in the passive voice. The passive voice means the subject is acted upon - not doing the action. The actual word translated, “obey” (peitho) has several potential meanings (just as English words do). The root meaning of “peitho” is “persuasion.” Blind obedience is outside the circle.

Second, in the English translation: “leaders” is a noun. But, this is a participle in the Greek - not a noun. A participle is a verbal adjective. There is a huge difference between “the leading ones” and “leaders.” In this instance, “the leading ones” refers to the more mature Christians “of you all” (a plural genitive). They seek to persuade the less mature by instruction and example - and call for imitation. “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ” (1Cor 11:1 - and this is the Apostle Paul … to the Corinthians!).

Third, in the English translation: “to them” is a prepositional phrase. This is not in the Greek at all and should just be forgotten.

Hebrews 13:17 should be translated more like this: “You must allow yourselves to be persuaded by the leading ones of you all … and yield.” The less mature are commanded to allow themselves to be persuaded (passive) by the more mature among them - and then yield to accurate handling of the word of God (doctrine and lifestyle) - not to them. This is totally consistent with all the other foundational Biblical injunctions of the Christian faith. “Examine everything; adhere to that which is good” (1Thes 5:21). The Bereans “were more noble minded than those in Thessolonica … examining the Scriptures daily” to see if Paul’s assertions were correct (Acts 17:11). “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!” (2Cor 13:5).

Those who are leading must account for how they led. But, they are not responsible for wrong choices by their listeners (assuming they had led correctly). Paul was not guilty before God for the errant choices of the wayward Corinthians or the bewitched Galatians. Their choices did bring him grief … but not guilt.

I cannot explain why translators have so fouled this passage from Hebrews. If you can find a Greek scholar who can explain this - let me know (”Peithesthe” is not a middle deponent verb to be translated active either). By the way, Jesus did talk about leaders one time. “Do not be called leaders; for One is your leader - Christ” (Mt 23:10). Does He need to repeat Himself?

The Christian Faith

This arises when individual circumstances converge on a person - forcing an intense search … for the Creator. While God may use people, or even some of the structures of religion as cited above, these things are secondary (at best). The Christian faith is the search for God. “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for Thee, O God. My soul thirsts for God - for the living God” (Ps 42:1,2). Furthermore, He tells us, “You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jer 29:13). This is hard. In fact, I don’t think we can really know when we have truly sought Him with all of our heart. Duplicities, known and unknown, infest us.

God calls people to the Christian faith. He calls them … one by one. No one can get into heaven on the coattails of another. Adhering to the greatest of preachers … will not work. Supporting, or participating in, the most fruitful Christian church … will not move God to accept that one. Even following hard on the heels of the most devout of mothers … will not usher one into glory. There is but One Advocate before God the Father who can make a successful case for one’s inclusion into His favor (1Jn 2:1). And one must deal with Him solo. Nothing we will ever undertake is more solo - and absolutely necessary.

The extreme emergencies of life … are faced alone. The only One who can help us - is God. When Stephen was being stoned to death, he needed Christian faith - not some version of Christian religion (Acts 6 and 7). Our situation will be different, but the reality of need will be the same. The Christian faith is spiritual independence from man … and total spiritual dependence upon Jesus Christ.

How To Make A Diaper Cake
