Feng Shui House Colors and Elements for Beginners
For your Feng Shui House, you would use the Feng Shui Ba-Gua to map out the different directions in your home. Based on those eight directions of the Ba-Gua, you would then use the Lo-Pan or Feng Shui compass to find out more about which elements will go with the eight different directions. Because a color goes along with each element, then you can figure out which colors will help to promote good Chi.
Employing the different Feng Shui colors is the easiest method for producing the different types of positive energy , which translate into marriage, health, prosperity and other things that are directed by Chi. Light is quite important when working to produce good Chi. As you learn more about Feng Shui House, you will discover how those elements relate to the eight directions outlined by the Feng Sui Ba-Gua map.
The five elements
Several colors embody the various natural elements. Various shades of these specific colors can be used in Feng Shui House decorating.
- Wood element – Browns and greens
- Water element – Black or blue
- Fire element – deep yellows, reds, dark purples, and oranges
- Earth element – Sandy shades, yellows, and light browns -
- Metal element – White, silver, gray, and gold
There are two cycles that rule the five elements – the destructive cycle and the productive cycle. During the productive cycle, the wood elements is nourished by the water element, going on to create a fire element. The fire element burns and eventually produces the earth element , from which the metal element is formed and then the metal element feeds on to the water element. This cycle continues to revolve.
How to Feng Shui your house with these element colors
The different colors associated with these elements also represent and boost the likelihood of certain characteristics such as abundance, health and recognition. Specific directions on the Ba-Gua deal with the elements directly. For example, the Southeast and East are represented by the wood element.
Feng Shui House is all about creating a flow of energy that bodes well in the work or living area. This means that you should use certain colors that correspond with the elements of that direction. Particular colors may be pleasing and can be used outside of the natural element, as long as they are in the same cycle. One example is red, which is a fire color and deals with an energizing Chi. If you have an unfavorable configuration within your house, negative Chi can be turned around by the color red.
There are more complicated relationships between these elements and colors. The information listed above is just the beginning to your Feng Shui House. The complex nature of Feng Shui House is the primary reason many spend so much time studying to figure out these ancient principles related to good Feng Shui.
