Freedom Can Be Motivating

Written by Shawn Doyle on Nov 24th, 2009 | Filed under: Motivation

We live in a free society, so it’s kind of funny to even talk about freedom. We have it, while many others just don’t.

We are often not free even though we live in and are citizens of a free society.

I know people who stay married to people that make them miserable and then complain about it because they are not free. They don’t realize or understand they have the freedom of choice. They can go get help through counseling, or decide to end that marriage. But they decide to do nothing, and are enslaved by their own apathy. Its a real shame.

I know people who hate their work and going to work everyday. They could change but they fear doing so. Maybe they think the next job will be worse. If they choose to, they could change their work and even their career. They could change everything the next day but dont.

Some people dont think they deserve to ever be treated well. They will put up with horrible abuse for years. They will allow cruelty and abuse by loved ones and people that call themselves friends. Yes the accept this kind of treatment.

Some people will easily accept what they have in life because of history and life experiences in the past. They are sadly in a rut. They are clearly in a big rut but dont know that they are.

Please I beg you to realize that we have the right to freedom, which means the right to consciously choose. That is a right that is given, but it is our choice to take that right and exercise it now, today.

Our happiness is based on the the ability to be able to choose. People can exert their right to be whatever they can dream. We can choose to reinvent ourselves mentally, spiritually, emotionally, financially and socially. We have the freedom to change from a biker to a banker if we choose, and banker to a bouncer if we choose, a bouncer to a ballet dancer if we choose, a ballet dancer to a bowler if we choose. It is really beautiful to have freedom and the ability to choose when we want.
