One of the most important events for any Catholic family is First Communion. It is often celebrated with a gathering of family and friends after a day’s church services. Favors are usually given to each of the guests as a way of thanking them for joining the family on this special celebration. There is huge amount of different options available to be given as Communion favors, and you can even personalize them as well.
Votive Candles – Votive candles are small candles that are about an inch in diameter and an inch and a half to two inches tall. They are available both scented and fragrance free. It is possible to get personalized votive candles with a label on them imprinted with your child’s name, First Communion date, and a small picture or graphic.
Fans – There are numerous stores that sell either folding fans or paperboard fans that they will personalize. Having a fan with your child’s name and First Communion date on it makes for a nice keepsake. People will appreciate having something to fan themselves with if the church is especially warm.

Bubbles – Tiny bottles of bubbles are easy to find at any party supply shop and on-line. You can usually have them personalized with your child’s name, the date of the First Communion and usually a small picture or symbol at a reasonable price. Bubbles make fun Communion favors when there are going to be young children attending. Children love receiving bubble bottles.
Candies – Getting chocolates or other packaged candies with your child’s name and the First Communion date printed on front of the packaging is a good idea. Mind to the weather and temperature when you intend on buying candy as Communion favors – if it is too warm, chocolate could very well melt and make an unruly mess. Mints are a good alternatives if chocolates are out of the question. Many party supply shops sell individually wrapped mints with religious insignia printed right on the wrapping covers.
Programs – You can get program that are specially printed up of the celebration day’s events with inspiring phrases and pictures. These can make a very wonderful keepsake that people will love to keep. Using colorful paper along a decorative font or design can transform the program from just a useful paper to memorable keepsake for everyone to remember the special day for a long time.
The favors that you finally decide on should be completely based on who will be attending the First Communion and after-celebration. If there are going to be a lot of young children attending, consider child-friendly favors like bracelets or bubbles. If there are mosty going to be adults that are attending, consider passing out some favors that they will likely can save for a long period of time afterward.
