Undertakers, also known as Funeral Directors, are experts who manage activities and ceremonies associated with funerals. Some of the necessary qualities and abilities that are required by those in this job are mentioned below.
An undertaker should be energetic and be willing to work at odd hours, as he has to be on call 24 hours a day. He should be ready to work away from his workplace as the task requires him to be at the place where he is required.

A good undertaker will essentially possess good organizational skills and managerial abilities. He should also possess leadership skills and should be able to coordinate with a wide range of people – from the clergy members to the flower seller.
Legal procedures and other official formalities to be followed in case of a death must be known to the undertaker who will have to receive required approvals etc for the funeral proceedings and other related things. He must also be conscious of the administrative procedures to be adhered to for procuring death certificates, insurance claims etc.
Lastly, an undertaker must ensure that his driver\’s licence is regularly updated and that he can drive the funeral vehicle during the service.
