Simple Steps To Getting Motivated

Motivation is so easily drained from us. Sometimes you are motivated and pumped up, and other times you just don’t have it. The interesting thing about motivation is that if you want it, you can have it, because motivation begins in your mind.

If you are looking for motivation, here is a simple plan that will help motivate you and empower you to design your own mood.

Rise and Shine – Get out of bed as soon as the alarm clock goes off. It’s a bright new day brimming with purpose and promise. There’s no reason to linger in bed.

Speak the words, “It’s a good day today!” Say it until you have convinced yourself. Then, you will start the day with a positive perspective. You can look forward to stepping out into the day!

Use songs to uplift your moods. Sing in the shower. Sing in the car. It’s almost impossible to be depressed when you are singing. Singing adjusts your mindset to think positively. Sing whenever you can.

Say something nice to others. Find a reason to compliment others at least three times a day. You will find that as you compliment others in a spirit of gratitude and respect that life becomes more enjoyable. You’ll also find that more graciousness and respect comes to you.

Listen to yourself read out loud. Learn to know and appreciate your own voice. It is an integral part of who you are. I recommend reading aloud for at least five minutes each day. This will help you accept the sound of who you are, creating a greater sense of security and self-esteem.

Steer clear of negativity and negative people. Maintain a PMA – Positive Mental Attitude. Don’t get involved in gossip; instead focus on the good in every person and every situation. When you face a challenge ask yourself, “What can I learn from this?” You’ll find that you begin to view life more objectively, which cuts down on emotional baggage.

These six powerful steps, practiced daily, will help improve your mood and give your personal motivation a kick start, even when you face life’s challenges. Implement these steps to reach your goal of a positive mental outlook, creative thinking and living, and a stress-free life.
