Why We Need Christian Resources
At times in my life, I get worried that level of our media is sinking way too low for anyone with morals. I realize this is because I am Christian, but the fact is that I think much of what media companies put out nowadays is reprehensible. And I really don’t think it’s getting any better.
The media that I am mainly referring to is stuff like books for children, movies, and music. Undoubtedly there are more than that, but you get the point. I’m not advocating insulation from all of these things, but I am saying that the need to live better and more Christ-like is even more important now than ever before.
Church helps, obviously. There are few things better than going to church on Sunday to bring good influences back into my life. All the great Christian resources I have access to are really helpful to me. Church is a place where I can re-unite with friends, worship, and think about the good things in life.
One of the other things that are a huge help to me are all the Christian stores that supply me with good media. Whether you realize it or not, there are a lot of Christian stores in the U.S. But if you can’t find a brick and mortar store, you can always shop on the internet for anything you need.
Christian stores carry some of the best and most worthwhile children’s books and products that I know of. Even though children’s books are about as common as ants, very few of them contribute anything to a child’s mind and spirit. I mean, do we want our kids reading books about wizards, or about Christ and his disciples?
I also like that I can find good Christian art at these stores. Some of the more famous Christ renderings are essentials for every Christian to have in their home. Since we are talking about having better media than what is popular, what better way is there to set up an environment for it than by having good artwork in the home?
Last but certainly not least is all the quality church resources that Christian stores specialize in. Surely you’ve seen the church bulletins, certificates, or stationary that your church provided, but maybe you didn’t know that they got it at the Christian store. Even though we don’t think much of these products, they are very important.
My main message is that there is a lot of degrading media out there, but there is still a way we can provide good things to our families. That way is by paying a visit to your Christian store and betting what you need.
Because therethere are few places to turn to buy quality and inspiring media, you can turn to Christian stores to buy quality Christian supplies. You and your family will be glad you did.
