You Want to Make Money Online? Shot-Gun Your Television
Internet professionals promoting business opportunities for making money online or selling training programs or other Internet related tools and software, eventually become highly aware of how few of their buyers actually use what they have purchased (Some marketers dont care . . . but most of us really do and are always trying to improve percentages).
The Shocking Truth Initially it is quite shocking to find that people will pay for a program–even more expensive products for two or three thousand dollars–and never even crack it open. Months and soon years go by while it gathers moss . . . but at the same time others have put the program or tool to work and are enjoying its benefits Just imagine that someone is making high six or even seven figure incomes a year making money online using that same program buried deep and forgotten on somebody else’s hard-drive.
The Gym Membership Syndrome We’ve all had memberships to the Gym that weve paid monthly for–month-after-month–without ever actually walking through the front door after the first three days of signing up. Why? In my mind it was always, Im keeping this membership because Im definitely, positively going to get back there . . . soon. But life always seems to get in the way and before we know it another year–or two–has gone by and were still in the same place (or same poor condition) we were in when we enrolled, except were now a few hundred–or thousand–dollars lighter.
Inertia: The Silent Life Stealer Inertia is caused by many and varied reasons, but if asked a “certified Mental Health Professional” to break it all down and analyze us all as a whole, they would probably find at the bottom of it all that people simply dont have the belief that they can accomplish their goals. Underneath there is always the nagging sense that others seem to have some innate ability or gift that we lack. A fit, healthy body, making a lot of money on the Internet, or a happy, successful marriage is somehow out of our reach. Maybe you’ve experienced this at times, where you felt that others must have some extra “magic” that helps them achieve great things. They must have been born with something the rest of us just dont have, right?
No, Not Really Let’s examine this a bit closer: Have you ever known anyone that seemed to have many natural gifts or maybe an extra high I.Q, that seemed to accomplish nothing, or at the very least performed well below what you would expect? The truth is, few who have experienced success started out possessing everything required to achieve that success: As a matter of necessity, they simply gathered the specialized skills, expertise, tools and other resources needed as they progressed along the path to their goal. Bottom Line: They likely started out with some variation of this: a) a burning desire, b) a vision of their desired outcome, and c) a firm resolve to overcome everything along the way to their goal’s achievement.
The Simplest, yet Most Powerful of Solutions So, whats the solution to inertia? It is so simple that youre likely to discount it: Be Present. Stop operating under the faulty assumption that youll get it done later. Today–this moment–is all you have, the rest is just a promise with no guarantee it can be kept. You cant change anything in your future because the future only really exhists in your mind. However, you can only take action here and now. It is in The Now that you shape your future by taking your first step . . . and then this next step . . . and then this next step–your complete focus on each individual step along the way. The quality of your future is purely the result of the value and focus youve given this moment and each and every moment to follow. This may strike you as esoteric but its not, it is simple, common sense.
One Final Note: Kill your Television! Every insipid commercial, mindless sit-com, phony reality show, sexy-smart-cant-miss-content-only-appropriate-for-adults episode and depressing dump of Breaking News thats just in, is slowly sucking away precious minutes of your life that you will never get back. Isn’t it about time you began to live your own Life with Passion?
